I was super peeved when Autopilot Off broke up. My radio quality pop “emo” rock band was gone. But now i have a suitable replacement in A Change Of Pace

This disc does a fine job of not hammering the fact that these dudes unabashedly dig the pop in pop rock. These bros do what bands like Boys Like Girls and Forever the Sickest Kids try to do but they can actually pull it off without seeming like whiny bitches or excessively narcissistic douchebags.

The album starts off on a pretty strong note with titular track prepare the masses with its catchy power chords structure. The next 3 tracks are all radio single worthy and it keeps going at this great up tempo speed all the way to track 5 “Weekend Warriors” where it slows down just a tad in beat alone (the guitar work never levels off from ball busting. No sooner then the very next song “White lines and lipsticks” does the speed return to its faster then a fat kid tempo. The second half of the disc is a little less memorable then the first but bands always put their strongest offerings up front these days. Oh and of course the disc ends with the sterotypical acoustic track (I swear to god if i get one more disc in the mail with a useless acoustic track i will off myself and find some way to revive my body and bring the zombie apocalypse needed to end this horrible trend).

This by no means genre shattering kids. If you are into safe music like Sum 41, Autopilot Off, Cartel, Over it, and Blink 182 then you have just found a new band to add to your rotation. This is a great release for what it is. The first couple of songs will stick in your head but dont expect to get some change of pace ink after a month of spins.

For fans of: Autopilot Off (RIP), Boys Like Girls (may god have mercy on your soul),
